Glasgow League

In order to incress the number of games for league teams the Glasgow League was created. Formed in 1895 senior clubs in the Glasgow area competed in this mini league. The competition was disbanded at the end of 1899 season to make way for the Inter City League. With the demise of the Inter City League the Glasgow League was resurected in 1904 but lasted for only 2 seasons. As the National League incressed in size fixtures had to double as Glasgow League matches. The most famous of these being the 1904-05 Campionship play-off between Rangers and Celtic.
